If you’ve been reading my blog the last couple months, you’ve probably been thinking,
“Those Millers, they don’t do anything at all. Boringest family in America.”
Yeah, we thought so too. That’s why we decided to heap onto the pile of finishing our dissertations, moving across the country, looking for a job, living like vagrants for awhile, and buying a house, the low-commitment life change of….having another baby.
That’s right folks, I’M PREGNANT!!!!!!
Here is our little gummy bear:
I am currently 12 weeks along (due Feb. 18th) so if any of you are doing the math, yes, I moved from Illinois to North Carolina during my first trimester.
People, don’t ever, EVER do this. It is terrible.
Fortunately, my parents are awesome. We stayed with them for about 5 weeks which, thank goodness, was when I was the sickest. They helped take care of Isaac so that I could lie on the couch all day like a good-for-nothing, which is really all a woman with morning sickness wants to do. So special shout out to my parents!!
I’ve also gotta give major props to Ike for doing double duty these last few weeks. He was such a trooper–moving all our stuff (in the rain!) and watching our son and cooking our meals so that I could rest and take care of myself. As much as the physical limitations of pregnancy feel like a sacrifice, he bore the sacrifice with me.
I haven’t been blogging as much because, quite frankly, I couldn’t scrape myself off the floor long enough to form a coherent sentence. Now that the morning sickness has finally subsided, I can’t wait to share some of what God has been teaching me as I navigated these crazy life circumstances without the resources of good health to rely on. I tell you what, pregnancy is a teacher.
I promise this is the last major life update I’ll be sharing for awhile (I hope!). In addition to praying for this little baby, please pray for me too. I’ll be attempting to knock out my dissertation before the baby’s arrival, which may or may not happen. It will take discipline and a lot of work, so I would welcome your prayers for that endeavor.

Congratulations! So funny, I moved across the country during the first trimesters of both of my pregnancies. So yeah, I feel you, not fun.
